Lucy Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner

I began as a Trainee Associate Psychological Practitioner, completing a postgraduate diploma following my BSc in Psychology & Counselling Studies. I have since completed a top-up course to become a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. I provide mental health and wellbeing appointments at our GP practices that draw from different therapeutic approaches such as compassion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy.

The number of session you are offered will depend on need, but eight sessions is the current maximum. There are a number of interventions that can be provided during these appointments such as: building confidence, problem-solving skills, recognising and managing emotions and graded exposure. You can be referred via any clinician in your GP practice and I will first give you a call to do a couple of questionnaires and ask more around what you’d like to work on so we can set some goals.
