Joe Mental Mental Health Pharmacist

I have been a pharmacist for 11years. I began my career in community pharmacy, switched to primary care in 2019 and joined Picton Primary Care Network in August 2022 as part of the pharmacy team and was involved in the management of people living with chronic conditions.

 

I quickly began to see the overlap of people managing physical conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder or chronic pain and mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

 

When an opportunity came to upskill and get a postgraduate qualification in mental health I was keen as I felt it would give me an opportunity to have a more holistic approach with how I manage patients in my clinics. I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health Therapeutics in April have joined the Picton Mental Health Multi-Disciplinary Team and now have weekly mental health clinics where I do what I can to give better outcomes for people living with mental health conditions.
